Frequently Asked Questions

Is this certificate recognised internationally?Yes. The qualification is OfQual Level 5, Highfield-accredited, and EQF Level 5 aligned — the same regulatory level as a Cambridge CELTA. It is accepted by employers and visa authorities worldwide.

Can I use this certificate to teach in Morocco?Yes. It qualifies you to teach English in private language schools, companies, and online. It is also accepted for overseas work permits in multiple countries.

How long does the course take? The individual course gives you up to 6 months of flexible self-paced access. The group course runs over 12 weeks: 8 weeks of online self-study followed by 4 weeks of live teaching practice via Zoom.

Do I need any prior teaching experience? No prior teaching experience is required. The course is designed for both complete beginners and teachers looking to formalise their qualifications.

What's the difference between this and a CELTA?Both are OfQual Level 5 qualifications. The main practical difference is teaching practice hours: CELTA requires 6 hours of observed teaching practice, while this course includes 3 hours of online teaching practice with real students via Zoom. The TEFL Institute course is fully online and costs significantly less, while providing equivalent regulatory recognition and a comparable career pathway.

How do I enrol?Email us at admin@englishforafrica.net or visit www.englishforafrica.org. Places on the group course are limited — the next cohort starts 20 July.
