Mariam had already been working as a public school teacher for several years when she came onto our August intensive CELTA course. From the course she took away a better understanding of lesson frameworks for both skills and language lessons; she is now capable of using student-centered means to clarify language and has found new ways to support students in developing both their receptive and productive skills. Her boundless energy and rigorous lesson planning make her classes both dynamic and useful for her students. We are proud to have had her on our training course, and we wish her the best in her future teaching career.

"Home" is the term that comes to mind when I think of "English for Africa." Even when there were no classes, we were allowed to come to the center and study or meet there. In reality, because it was our second home, the center management provided us with everything we needed to teach in a comfortable environment. Another aspect that distinguishes "English for Africa" is their concern for our well-being. "Hey Mariam, how are you feeling?" , or starting my day with " You're doing well, but don't overwork yourself." To be honest, those comments changed our days; they made us feel like no matter what happened, everything would be all right at the end of the day. Finally, having foreign teachers supervise us every step of the way makes English for Africa and its administration members a unique place to obtain your CELTA certificate.

Achraf Amzid, from Casablanca, Morocco. 
Achraf was an experienced teacher when he started our last fully online CELTA course of 2021. Thanks to the CELTA course, he was able to refine his lesson planning skills for both language and skills lessons. Most notable about Achraf’s teaching is how supportive he is of his students, and how personalized his interactions with them were; his calm, gentle manner made him approachable to his students, while his rigorous planning ensured that they came away from his lessons having achieved their lesson aims. We are proud to have had him on our training course, and we wish him the best in his future teaching career.

I would highly recommend studying the CELTA with English for Africa. The content is interesting and the tutors are passionate, supportive, and professional. The course has helped me to change my way of teaching, deepen my understanding of teaching methods, and also how to implement what I have learned in my classes.

Fatima-Zahra is a young Moroccan woman was had graduated and was working as an engineer, and decided that she wanted to change the direction of her career. She had had only a little experience tutoring privately, but she knew this was what she wanted to do. So she signed up for fully online CELTA in early 2021.

 

I'm Fatima-Zahra and I have taken the Cambridge Celta course at English for Africa Center.
I actually found out about English for Africa through the CambridgeEnglish.org  website while I was looking for authorized centers in morocco. And English for Africa was one of them.
I then looked for the founder, Mr. Mohamed Oummih on LinkedIn. He was very responsive and helpful. He answered all the questions that I needed to know before applying to this course.
I personally did the part-time online CELTA, which was the perfect way for me to combine my full-time job and studying.
To be honest, what I have learned during this course really exceeded my expectations. I learned about different teaching methods and strategies that changed my perspective on what teaching is. I also gained a lot of practical experience and knowledge because We were not only studying, we were also putting what we learned into practice. So it was a 2-in-1 kind of thing, a course, and training, which is one of the best things about the CELTA. It was also a very intense and stressful course, but we were warned about it during the application process. However, that’s what makes it worth it because being challenged is what helped me grow.
I really enjoyed my teaching practice sessions because I got to teach two levels of English learners, and also observe my peers' sessions.
After the TP, we had feedback sessions with the tutors, Mr. Mohamed and Mrs. Figen, who were extremely supportive and inspiring throughout the whole course and even after it. They were very accessible at all times and their feedback was very constructive and helpful.
I really noticed a drastic change and improvement in my and my peers' performance during TPs.
On the whole, it was a great experience, both personally and professionally. If you’ve been thinking about taking the Celta course, this is your sign to go for it!

Gianluigi had worked his whole life in the hospitality business but was passionate about the English language. He also felt it was time for a career change.

 

Before taking the Celta course, I had been toing and froing for ages. While surfing the internet, I came across English for Africa website, and on the spur of the moment, I made up my mind and get a hold of Mohamed to set an interview. Little did I know at that time that I would end up taking the Celta course at the center run by him. Since the preliminary interview, he put me at ease and raised awareness of my chances to succeed in the course. Throughout the course, Mohamed along with the other tutor Figen went out of their way to provide me with constant support and priceless pieces of advice aimed at delivering lessons more and more tailor-made and suitable to meet our student's needs. Overall, it has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. If I could step back in time, I wouldn't hesitate to take the course with English for Africa again.

I strongly recommend the center to anyone who is willing to take his career in the teaching industry to the next level.
