One of the goals of English for Africa, and the main reason I started this company, was to raise the bar for English language teaching across Africa. We started in Morocco, and by Jove, so far so good. We’ve also trained candidates from Egypt, Guinea Buisseau, Mauritania, and Madagascar on our local face-to-face and online courses.
The new partnership between English for Africa and Nouakchott’s Centre International des Langues (CIDL) will take our impact on African teachers to another level. Following our successful application to make CIDL a CELTA venue site, EfA will fly to Mauritania, in the summer of 2025, to run the face-to-face part of a mixed mode course.

Trainees will get exactly the same training, and the same certificate for their training as anyone taking the course in Asia, North America, or Europe, without having to fly to a foreign country.
The message from Cambridge Assessment English is clear: they will support us in our efforts to bring communicative language teaching (CLT) to other parts of Africa. And because EfA strongly believes in the potential of CELTA methodology to transform the teaching and learning of English as a foreign language, we plan to take them up on that!

If you are part of an organization in Africa that would like us to run a CELTA course on your premises, contact us now.
Do you live in Mauritania? Here are the course dates:
Online component: 14 July-22 August (part-time, sessions only on the weekend);Face-to-face component: 25 August-4 September (intensive, Monday-Friday).
