Kotoub’s arrival on our August intensive CELTA course is a clear sign that the English for Africa network is growing. In 2020, at the very moment the Covid epidemic was coming to Africa, I was on a course in Algeria, where I trained a young Mauritanian named Ahmed. Although Covid interrupted the training, it was completed a few months later. Ahmed would go on to mentor other teachers in Mauritania, in particular… Kotoub. He is our fifth Mauritanian candidate, and one of several more candidates we’ve trained on the African continent. English for Africa is fulfilling its mission of bringing quality teacher training to Africa and beyond.
